Do you want to lead and develop Process Technical Services Group at Nynas' refinery in Nynäshamn?
As a manager for the Process Technical Services Group you will have a key role at the refinery.
The purpose of the Technical Services Process department is to support a long term reliable and safe production, follow up the performance of existing process units both regarding performance but also environmental compliance, provide automation support (DCS), develop the process units through investment and implement improvement proposals. The position as Technical Services Manager Process reports to the Refinery Manager and is a member of the Refinery Management Team.
Key responsibilities
In this role your key responsibilities will include:
Managing and developing a team of seven process engineers and two automation engineers
The overall refinery Capex investment budget and your department’s budget. Your group will initiate, justify, and prioritize projects while contributing to project execution
The development and implementation of the crude flexibility program at the refinery
To conduct performance analysis of the units, including troubleshooting, and ensure process designs are safe. We see that you enjoy developing subordinates to ensure a high competence level in relevant fields of process engineering.
Supervising and leading the automation engineers providing a high reliable control system to Operations
Responsibility for management of change and process safety information documentation.



You will also be working closely with internal parties such as production, engineering, maintenance, HSSE, technical market support, business development and with suppliers of equipment, catalysts and consultants.
As a manager for the Process Technical Services you will be a member of the Site Management team and we believe that you have at least three years of experience from a managerial position preferebaly within the process industry.
Candidate profile
The successful candidate holds a MSc. in Chemical engineering or similar and has documented leadership experience from a process industry, preferably petro chemistry. The candidate has a strong drive and dedication to deliver high quality results on time and possess strong analytical skills. The ideal candidate communicates unimpeded in both Swedish and English.
To do well in this position, besides the technical skills mentioned above, you need to manage relationships with internal stakeholders, inspire and motivate your subordinates, have an ability to plan and execute projects, be analytical and quality oriented. You like to collaborate and have a proactive approach. Also we see that you have a passion for development while maintaining responsibility in a strictly regulated environment.

The Engineering Department in Manufacturing is responsible for the specification and delivery of capital projects for Nynas, encompassing stand-alone projects, a portfolio of smaller plant additions and modifications, environmental projects, investigations and early phase study work. The team also provides engineering support to the refineries and businesses throughout the Nynas group.The refineries are located in Nynäshamn, Gothenburg and Hamburg, with numerous production sites and storage facilities worldwide.The Engineering organisation is divided into three groups; Process Engineering, focused on pre-studies and concept engineering, Plant Engineering responsible for discipline engineering input and Project Engineering: a dedicated team of project specialists managing the portfolio of Nynas projects, supported by the Antura portfolio management tool. Project Managers are involved in early project phases, accepting responsibility for delivery from the FEED phase to completion and handover into operation.Key responsibilitiesAs a Project Manager you will be assigned for one or more projects in the Nynas capital projects portfolio, reporting to the Head of Project Engineering. Projects may include activities in multiple geographical locations, such as Gothenburg, Hamburg or the home office in Nynäshamn.The Project Manager is fully responsible for directing their project resources across the matrix engineering organization as well as dedicated external consultants and contractor teams to ensure the projects fulfil their commitments to the business in terms of HSEQ, functionality, cost and schedule targets. As a day to day manager for your assigned projects, you will be responsible for risk management and mitigation, project reporting and communication with the wider Nynas organisation.The Project Manager is expected contribute to the development and structured implementation of the Nynas Engineering Project Model and it’s associated processes. You’ll also use your experience to assist in the development of more junior members of the team.Desired qualifications To be successful in this position we believe you have at least five years’ experience in project engineering within electrical/instrument technical matters and preferably with a certificate in project management. You have a solid technical background in hydrocarbon, chemical or other relevant process industries. Furthermore, we are looking for;• A demonstrable track record of on time, to budget and above all safe project delivery.• Ability to manage change and uncertainty, anticipating problems through good risk management.• Communicate across disciplines, effectively directing work in a matrix organisation.• Skilled at managing a diverse group of stakeholders within and external to your projects.• Experience of managing project execution within tight schedules imposed by plant turnarounds.• You are expected to be able to be a strong communicator, fluent in spoken and written English, it is advantageous to possess a proficiency in Swedish and/or German.
